Hi all!

I'm noticing that when sending emails, it is apparently failing the
connection with ClamAV:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Sep 29 10:17:22 mail amavis[6178]: (06178-02) (!)connect to
/var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl failed, attempt #1: Can't connect to a UNIX
socket /var/run/clamav/cl

-----------------------------------------------------------------

But clamd is running:

root@mail:/var/run/clamav# ps ax | grep clamd
 6687 ? Ssl 0:16 /usr/sbin/clamd --foreground=true

The pidfile was generated:

root@mail:/var/run/clamav# ll
total 8
-rw-rw-r-- 1 clamav clamav 5 sep 29 10:26 clamd.pid
-rw-rw---- 1 clamav clamav 5 sep 29 10:25 freshclam.pid

But it seems the socket file is not created.

Has anyone experienced this behavior? I'm using Debian Jessie.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Daniel

I see this in /var/log/clamav/clamav.log:

Tue Sep 29 11:21:46 2015 -> TCP: No tcp AF_INET/AF_INET6 SOCK_STREAM
socket received from systemd.

So maybe it is related to this.

Best regards,
Daniel

Well, it seems it was definitely something related to systemd. Just
after running the following (as suggested here [1]):

root@mail:/var/run/clamav# systemctl --system daemon-reload
root@mail:/var/run/clamav# systemctl restart clamav-daemon.socket
root@mail:/var/run/clamav# systemctl restart clamav-daemon.service

the socket file was created:

root@mail:/var/run/clamav# ll
total 8
srw-rw-rw- 1 clamav clamav 0 sep 29 11:39 clamd.ctl
-rw-rw-r-- 1 clamav clamav 5 sep 29 11:40 clamd.pid
-rw-rw---- 1 clamav clamav 5 sep 29 10:25 freshclam.pid

Best regards,
Daniel
