my imap account at my isp.

As it alsu=o uses an external program like sendmail or exim, to send, is there 
a preferred  utility to post back to that same imap server running dovecot?

And this above was the first email I have successfully sent from kmail.
next, get it to receive  what procmail puts in /home/gene/.Maildir
