Greetings all;

Several bullseye problems:

#1: I have yet to get the new kmail to receive or send an email.
I could use some help there as I am forced to use FF as webmail.
And AFAIAK, its busted for that.

#2: I just got a msg from amazon that is other than the amazon lowercase logo
in the top-left corner, is an otherwise blank page that has no horizontal
scroll bar, and takes around 2 minutes to load when I select it. FF bug?
DIIK. But it is a $1000+ purchase intended for a Christmas present
so this needs resolved quickly.

#3: I see apple has completed the embrace, engulf, destroy of cups, its mailing list
has been removed from the apple servers. The bounce as undeliverable msg resolves
to an apple server, but there is not a cup list there.

What do we ALL do for cups support now?

On my printer, its majorly broken even with brothers brand new for bullseye

drivers installed. Its 15 times slower than it was on stretch, and refuses to

use the printers options even if selected at localhost:631. 4 major WTH's.

Help will be much appreciated.

Cheers, Gene

Isn't the CUPS mailing list here?:

    https://lists.cups.org/pipermail/cups/

The archives seem to show a small number of mails (usual for that
list, apparently) as recently as November and no indication about
the shutdown of the list.

The mail servers for that domain do claim to accept email for that
address:

Beyond that I cannot test without actually trying to send an email

Is that the list that you are talking about?

I didn't really find any of your complaints actionable as they did
not provide any specific information. I think you will do better if
you did the usual thing of explaining:

- exactly what you did
- what exactly happened including exact output of any error message
given (not your recollection of what may have happened)
- what exactly you expected to happen instead

Thanks,
Andy

For those playing along at home, Gene directly sent me a rambling
HTML reply which did confirm that cups@cups.org is the list he is
talking about, but only went on to say that he has attempted to
subscribe to it again and has not yet received an error.

So it seems most likely that this is user error as opposed to the
evil machinations of Apple corp, but we will probably never know
because as usual Gene does not provide any details as to what errors
he has seen up until now.

Gene's idea of progressing this was as follows:

I expected the smtp agent to be able to query imap.shentel.net
for port and protocol supported auto fill. but it apparently
    can't do that yet.

…which is basically just a restatement of "thing does not work"
without providing any useful information. Though did provide several
paragraphs of irrelevant personal rambling and insults aimed at
various software projects.

Maybe someone else can have a go and have more luck, but trying to
extract any usable information out of Gene seems like it will be, as
usual, an exhausting and unrewarding process.

Thanks,
Andy

Total nonsense regarding Apple Inc. This is misinformation of the
higherst order. It deserves to be ignored. The OP excels in pushing
out unsubstantiated opinions under the guise of facts.

The wise user reads our wiki. The unwise user hasn't a clue what to
do.

Brother has brand new drivers for your (unknown) printer on bullseye?
One of us is deluded.

Will a MUA in this list work?

Oberon mail is bulletproof in Debian 11, 10, 9.
