Hi.. I don't have an answer, it's a question, instead. To help others
who will look at this, are you moving your cursor (pointer) around, or
is that moving by itself, too? I'm just wondering if what's happening
is somehow triggered by the mouse (or touchpad) action.

For a few seconds there, it felt like the resolution was bouncing around...

For me it looks like some weird signal to the mouse or keyboard. This can
happen, either when there is hf in the near, but this can also happen, when
the battery of the wireless mouse or keyboard has not much capacity.

Even when the battery is ok and fully charged, instabilty can happen, when the
sender and receiver frequency drift away. This drifting can happen, when
frequency related parts like condesors loose capacity, when semiconductors
fail or other parts changes.

If there is no wireless hardware connected, check if the touchpad of the
notebook is clean, testwise disconnect it from the mainboard and see, if the
issue appears again.

Just my ideas, I may be completely wrong.

Good luck!

Hans

So, that computer has Intel and AMD graphics?

My daily driver is a Dell Latitude E6520 laptop with Intel/ NVIDIA
hybrid graphics ("Optimus"). I experience similar random desktop event
problems on Debian 9, 10, and 11 (10 is the worst, 9 is the least). My
guess is that there is a bug in the nouveau graphics driver related to
Optimus, as my other computers with Intel graphics do not seem to have
the same problem.

A touchscreen adds another input mechanism. Look for a little
water or dust on the screen.

You got me an insight!

I looked for how block the touchscreen. I found [1] and have blocked it.
The issue got away. But, I do not known if the problem was with the hard
or a software bug. In any case, I do not remember a day that I have been
used the touchscreen. So, in this mean time, it is not necessary.

Thank you all for helped me in this issue!
