Hi Guys (and girls), I was planning to host a Debian mirror but found that there's one running in the same datacenter as my own rack is rented (iweb.ca) So I'm planning something else as offer to the Debian community. What could be useful ? I know most developer already have much computing power and storage so it would be mostly for people who don't. So I'm posting "open" on this mailing list, if someone want so storage or use on a server rack then I could offer. It runs on AMD64 platform. I've also compiled (and modified when needed) some software that isn't found on Debian and exist on Ubuntu (last version of XBMC, ZoneMinder, etc). I'm open to suggestion... -- Polyna-Maude R.-Summerside -Be smart, Be wise, Support opensource development

I'm starting a Debian mirror (partial) but the usefulness will be limited as I'm nearby iweb.ca Debian mirror. > It runs on AMD64 platform. > > I've also compiled (and modified when needed) some software that isn't > found on Debian and exist on Ubuntu (last version of XBMC, > ZoneMinder, etc). > > I'm open to suggestion... > -- > Polyna-Maude R.-Summerside > -Be smart, Be wise, Support opensource development > -- Polyna-Maude R.-Summerside -Be smart, Be wise, Support opensource development

All the desktop environment (and windows manager) have a remote desktop possibility. Many choices... VNC, X11 over SSH (and more that I don't remember). Most of the time, it's only a front end to one of these. I have doubt on the fact that the LXDE group developed it's own protocol for doing remote display. -- Polyna-Maude R.-Summerside -Be smart, Be wise, Support opensource development
