Now we get to wonder what you actually purchased, from whom.

That last line is incorrect, or at least does not match the comment
before it. In order for it to do what the comment says, it would need
to begin with a % sign.

For the record, this is further evidence that you are not using a
pristine Debian system. A pristine Debian system's sudoers file has
a lot more in it than this, even after correcting the missing % sign.

Well all I can say is, it works.

The Disks I purchase were from https://ShopLinuxOnline.com/ . Received
16disk and did not have any problems with them. They were all marked
Debian 10.6 Buster 64 Bit(amd64) with the Debian Logo.

I am the only user on my laptop, an ASUS gaming machine Core i7. I gave
up on Windows 10 after one of the so called updates corrupted the system
so bad I could even boot. So I switched to Linux and I am learning a
lot, mostly from the Debian-user list.

Thanks again.
Jerry

It is good to learn from the list, but you should learn in a constructive
way

I found the Debian Wiki very helpful and recommend it.
https://wiki.debian.org/

Also I find very helpful the ArchLinux Wiki if I want to know how things
work in general. They tend to have a bit better (sorry Debian) concept of
documentation.

As a staunch Debian fanboi myself: the ArchLinux Wiki rocks!

The nice part about free software and the attitude behind it is that
there's no need to be sorry if "someone else" is better than "us" at
some thing. Enjoy that and offer them whatever it is what you can do
better in exchange.

Cheers

In what way does it rock? It hasn't any focus on Debian. Examples
welcome.

Not on Debian, but it explains programs, subsystems and configurations much
better. AFAIR it was discussed once here.
What I was reading there, because the info I found on debian was confusing,
outdated or unstructured

udev - ArchWiki
udisks - ArchWiki
NetworkManager - ArchWiki
CPU frequency scaling - ArchWiki
GRUB - ArchWiki
GPT fdisk - ArchWiki
PulseAudio - ArchWiki
Bluetooth - ArchWiki
etc.

For me personally it worked always like following. Some details and
understanding required (example GPT when moving to UEFI). Debian Wiki
explains how to configure and use Debian with GPT and UEFI. ArchWiki gives
all technical details on the subject.
It really rocks, but I mean the combination of the two.

Because of the threatened demise of wicd, I've started looking at
connman, something you've suggested in the past. The Debian wiki
https://wiki.debian.org/WiFi/HowToUse?highlight=%28connman%29
has a few connmanctl commands from a jessie user who had some
problem with that old favourite, TL-WN722N/ath9k. That's it.

Yes. And that's probably why google searches so often land on Arch
wiki pages—I assume that google is still ranking on the basis of
links to pages.

Cheers,
David.
