Insert into computer. 2. Boot. If this doesn't work for you, you need to post a description of the error because it should just work out of the box. Also, next time please respect the time of the thousands of people who are going to read this message live or search for it during the next years by selecting a more descriptive title...

I will do that next time. Sorry to everyone. Here is a well-known guide how to ask good questions in a mailing list like this one: http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html It contains a lot of good advice. I agree with Anders Andersson, please read this section in particular, heading "Use meaningful, specific subject headers": http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#bespecific Because your chosen Subject Header just looks like annoying click-bait, and we don't want that here. If you want smart people to help you for free, it's wise to communicate respectfully. They have better things to do than click on some meaningless link to find out what some careless person wrote in there. No offence intended, I am just trying to help you fit in here and thus get the kind of replies that you hope for. Thanks!

This is actually an important point, so let me offer
another perspective, to complement yours.
Here's the original subject again:
have you seen this inside....
And now, dear OP (Seeds Notoneofmy), try to walk a couple of
meters/yards in some random list reader's shoes: this list has
(very roughly) 1000 mails/month [1]. That means about 30 mails/day.
Someone picking mails will see one mail/line, with some hints from
its metadata: sender, subject, etc. and will decide, based on
them "oh, I do know something about this topic, I'll see whether
I can help" or, for example: "oh, this gal/guy has always interesting
posts, gotta read that"... or whatever.
What do you think will happen by reading that subject above?
Possibly the same as if you read
THIS 10 WEIRD TRICKS WILL MAKE YOU RICH
or something ;-)

Exactly. So
(a) help us help you
(b) help us make this place a nice place, with its roughly
3200 inhabitants :-)

Thanks for bringing that up, cheers

(though I do admit spammers and scammers also use real looking names, and do understand the wish to keep ones real name private) Kind regards, Andrei -- http://wiki.debian.org/FAQsFromDebianUser

I've been keeping an eye on mine (as they accumulate in my Junk folder and feed my spam filter) ever since, and it's held relatively true. Some of them are entertainingly odd, too. One of the top examples of such that I've received is "Sofia Warlord Ibrahim Coulibaly". -- The Wanderer The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man. -- George Bernard Shaw

I already, very clearly, noted in response to Anders: "sorry to all." In any society, virtual or otherwise, that will do it, assuming of course, you bothered to read: *"**Thank you. I will do that next time. Sorry to everyone."* Besides a very clear apology, I do not know what else was expected. Nor, can I understand the 'rants,' given the apology. However, some resources from David were very helpful, particularly, " http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html" And thanks, David, no offense taken. Best wishes

Thanks for your response, Tomas. We're good. e-mail has never been a great tool for communicating exact meanings. And that it does not work without the Internet, which is a great distraction to mental processes (a much studied effect in years to come) does not make it any easy. > >> I already, very clearly, noted in response to Anders: "sorry to all." >> >> In any society, virtual or otherwise, that will do it, assuming of >> course, you bothered to read: >> >> *"**Thank you.
