I had misinterpreted "SIZE  size of the device" in the response

df -h gives you that info

Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev            1.5G     0  1.5G   0% /dev
tmpfs           299M  4.6M  294M   2% /run
/dev/sda1        28G  9.0G   18G  35% /
