In linux, setting the wrong country can only reduce the performance you get, because it's likely that the equipment you're using is already constrained by its burned-in regulatory domain, and any limits (to TX power, channels, etc) are combined. So you might as well get it right. If the page you cited in your OP is up-to-date, then also bear in mind that freebsd claims to use different country codes from the usual ISO ones that linux uses (/usr/share/misc/countries.gz). One of them is Australia, as it happens, a country partly running 8 hours ahead, like wherever you are. Cheers, David.
