It is what d-i sees the partition as that is important and you
do know in advance. That's problem 1. Problem 2 is that the hard
disk partitions are probably ext4. At the opening stage of d-i
I do not think ext4 drivers are available.

The awkward techniwue appears to be indicated.

I do not think thta would be easy to do.
