*Nothing* like this happens in my case. I just turn off & on again my
computer.

This is my ethernet card:
06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 15)

It's built in to my ASUS motherboard.
