#13823 — Volunteer to moderate debian-jobs

Based on recent discussion, it appears that emails sent to
debian-jobs are stuck awaiting moderation (since October
2024). I assume this is because of a lack of manpower
available to moderate the list. If so, I am willing to
volunteer to moderate it.

I assume, that the list is low traffic (famous last words!), so I'ld
help, if nobody else applies for that.

debian-jobs moderator here.

No, it's because I didn't receive any emails regarding debian-jobs.
I also don't see anything in my spam mailbox.

It takes almost no time to moderate this list. It's just an email
every once in a while and you reply to approve it.

Anyway, I've asked listmaster to add Soren, Martin and Steve as
moderators and to remove me.

Thank you.

A previous email that a listmaster sent to myself and you had your email
listed as: tbm@cyrus.com. Is it possible that email address was accidentally
set as the moderation address for the mailing list?

Thanks!

(Where) is the workflow documented?
I never moderated a mailing list ;-)

Cheers

When someone posts to debian-jobs, you'll get an email. The subject
contains "COMMAND APPROVE". If it's okay, you just reply to that
email (empty is fine) and it will be approved. If it's not okay, you
can just ignore the email, or, I suppose, change APPROVE to DISCARD.
(When it was only me, I ignored the mails, but probably now with a
team sending an explicit DISCARD is better.)

Previously, the default was "COMMAND DISCARD" and you had to change it
to "APPROVE" but it seems that was change around 2020 according to my
mail archive.

I think that's it? But maybe listmaster have more to say.

That sounds easy, thank you!

But I sent an email to the list today and did not get an approve/discard
message...

I just checked my spam box and I have your email. It seems the
current moderators are Soren Stoutner and myself.

Hanno, Cord, can you add these:

Soren Stoutner <soren@debian.org>
Martin <debacle@debian.org>
Steve McIntyre <steve@einval.com>

and remove me?
