In order to gain popularity (and not only), early versions of Debian were
named with code-names inspired by the characters from "Toy Story".
Infact Bruce Perens, the second leader of the Debian Project, was employed
in Pixar Studios at the time Toy Story was produced.
I think code-names inspired by Marvel, DC or other
comic/video-game/animated-cartoon/movie characters might be a good idea.

For example...

Deadpool
Cable
Black Widow
Black Panther,
etc.

In any case, whatever code name you choose will be fine.

To quote Wikipedia:

Debian 1.2 (Rex), released 12 December 1996, contained 848 packages
maintained by 120 developers

Personal Note: That was almost two years before my first Debian
installation.

Greetings
Marc
