If you run into problems with unstable or testing, you should report them as bugs against the relevant package with reportbug. That way we can track them and try to get them fixed for the next release. I would recommend testing over unstable unless you're very familiar with Linux and comfortable with your ability to roll back to previous kernels, downgrade and pin packages, and fix weird problems.
