#61958 — Kernel team meeting

FromRomain Perier <romain.perier@gmail.com>
Date2018-08-31 08:50 +0200
SubjectKernel team meeting
Message-ID<wsLpL-5Vm-1@gated-at.bofh.it>
Hello,

I have started the discussion on IRC, but as suggested by Ben, that's
better to forward this on the ML.

This could be interesting to organize kernel team meetings (few per
year for a beginning?). We could talk about the last discussions at
the debconf that might impact us (generally speaking, get feedback on
conferences, for example), or what are the current hot topics , or
what is the status the of the last security issues... etc (all of
these are just examples). That would improve communication in the
team, co-working, etc...

I can help for organization,

Thanks,
Regards,
Romain

Yes, let's do this. I would be happy to meet for up to an hour with a
defined agenda. Can you set up a poll for when people are available,
and an etherpad or other shared document for the agenda?

Ben.

Quick question for both: are we speaking physical or online meetings? Seems
that “an hour” and “multiple time per year” indicate online, but a
confirmation would be nice.

Hello,

I had in mind an online IRC meeting, so logs of the meeting can be
saved and retrieved
later by anyone.

Could you (the team) put your timezone under
https://etherpad.net/p/DebianKernelMeetings please ? That's a temp
note, I will move everything to the wiki of the project (that's under
discussion with waldi and Corsac)

Thanks,

Hi,

That's on the wiki, I have wrote this
https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/kernel-team/wikis/Meetings, if
the agenda is okay for you, we can discuss about a date for the next
meeting . Could all of you check that you have your name in the
timezone section ?

Thanks,

Hi,

As everyone has voted on the framadate poll, I propose that the next
meeting is on Tuesday 02/10 at 6h30 p.m UTC. It will take place on
#debian-kernel on IRC.
I will update the wiki about this.
