Hi,

This bug is being added as several users (me included) have required
this information from the (unofficial) Raspberry Pi Debian "clean"
image.

There is a great number of devices with similar format, allowing for
GPIO communications, that would benefit from having SPIDEV enabled in
our mainline kernel. FWIW, my particular use case (for which I chose
to switch to Raspbian instead) was to flash ROM images.

Thanks for considering this bug as a harmless and easy-to-fulfill
wishlist request!
