 Hello everyone,

I'm using debian stretch in many AMD geode LX800 headless stations,
and I want to update Buster when it becomes stable.

Test Debian Buster Alpha 3 Installer i386 with kernel 4.16.0-2
and I can not start the installation because the kernel prints that is not
compatible
with i586.

I'm sorry, but I could not find that information in the documentation, in
the mailing list, or in the Changelog of the package.

Regards,
Carlos San Esteban

This was not an intentional change in Debian. The "buster" release
should support the same x86 processors as Debian 9 "stretch".

What was the latest Debian kernel version that you know worked on this
machine?

Ben.

I found the problem (an upstream change) so I don't need an answer to
this.
