Hi,

  please enable CONFIG_USB_DUMMY_HCD so to build dummy_hcd.ko module.

It would really help me "[...] in some stages of creating a driver to
embed in a Linux device, since it lets you debug several parts of the
gadget driver without its hardware or drivers being involved."

If you're doing kernel development, you can enable this in the kernel
you build.  Am I missing something?

My hope is that I can use it to build a fake gadged device,
which I need for application development.

Of course I tried to build my kernel but it was not booting
my Debian any more, then I run out of steam and moved onto
a physical device.

Still I'd like to make the trick, if possible.

Maybe I've got it wrong.
