Package: src:linux Version: 4.7.2-1 Severity: normal I'm using a Carbon X1 (3rd gen). Compared to the latest 4.6 kernel, this image has a significant performance regression in all I/O related operations. Just as a ballpark, 4.6.0-1 can boot in generally less than 3 seconds after the grub screen. With 4.7.0-1, it takes over 10. But since you mention also having an X1, can I ask if you have problems with system hangs occasionally when wifi is turned on? This problem similarly started with the 4.7 kernels. I know it's because of the wifi as I'm almost always working with a cable and never have issues, but when I work over wifi, I often get hangs when the system is displaying some heavy web page. sysrq doesn't work (the system is totally frozen). On top of that, the X1 also does seem to hang if you plug usb hid devices during boot (confirmed with other laptops with the same series). We have a batch of 12 of those laptops. Two of those developed "stains" in the brightness of the backlight. 6 of those have a defective up arrow key. The contrast of the screen also degraded quite quickly, making it much less appealing as it was supposed to be. This is the crappiest QC I've ever seen in a laptop which is supposedly top of the line. Sorry, rant over.
