SubjectBug#836742: linux-image-4.7.0-1-amd64: PPTP VPN not working at all
Message-ID<se0Jc-3fd-39@gated-at.bofh.it>
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.7.2-1
Severity: normal

PPTP VPN has stopped working in 4.7 kernel. Worked just fine in 4.6.

I did some limited debugging, without much success. It seems ppp_mppe
module is not loaded on demand, and also loading it manually doesn't
help at all. No errors in the kernel log. pppd reports LCP: timeout
sending Config-Requests and timeouts.

Oh, I see now that the same bug is reported in the Redhat bug tracker:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1373014

So, it looks like this is an upstream bug.
