So this looks like https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88325
and fixed in Linus tree
https://git.kernel.org//linus/1b9448b071caa7d10bb2569fabe3020a2c25ae59
(v4.4-rc2) and backported in 3.16.7-ckt22 as
cb7b74a708c5cd9cdf29b820f340f790d73ae217.

Thanks for confirming it is fixed in v3.16.7-ckt25, closing the
bugreport.
