#53009 — Bug#815726: initramfs-tools requires newer coreutils for ln -r

FromMarc MERLIN <marc_soft@merlins.org>
Date2016-02-24 06:30 +0100
SubjectBug#815726: initramfs-tools requires newer coreutils for ln -r
Message-ID<r5Abp-8gj-29@gated-at.bofh.it>
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.123

Upgrading initramfs-tools creates non working initrds if you don't upgrade
coreutils;
Adding config /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume
Adding binary-link /sbin/modprobe
ln: invalid option -- 'r'
Try `ln --help' for more information.
Adding binary /bin/kmod
Adding library-link /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6
(...)

Fix was:
Unpacking coreutils (8.24-1) over (8.13-3) ...

But initramfs-tools should have a dependency on the minimal coreutils it
needs to avoid such issues.

Thanks,
Marc
