Package: src:linux Version: 7.1.7-1 Severity: serious Tags: sid forky Affects: src:cross-toolchain-base The linux-libc-dev-cross-<arch> packages are using the multiarch path, not the HOST_GNU_TYPE path. That doesn't make a difference on most architectures, but does for i386.

Yes, they use multiarch, as expected. HOST_GNU_TYPE is not stable over the lifetime of the distribution. And also it now took me quite some time to decipher what you mean, because you refuse to show what you see. Bastian -- You can't evaluate a man by logic alone. -- McCoy, "I, Mudd", stardate 4513.3

Control: reassign -1 linux-libc-dev-i386-cross Control: found -1 6.18~rc4-1~exp1 On Tue, Aug 11, 2026 at 08:47:51AM +0200, Matthias Klose wrote: > The linux-libc-dev-cross-<arch> packages are using the multiarch path, not > the HOST_GNU_TYPE path. > That doesn't make a difference on most architectures, but does for i386. The missing information: The affected package is linux-libc-dev-i386-cross. The package name was listed wrong as linux-libc-dev-cross-<arch>, which does not exist, even after replacing the placeholder. The contents are installed into /usr/i386-linux-gnu (derived from multiarch). However it is expected to be installed into /usr/i686-linux-gnu (derived from the gnu type). For the future: Please use reportbug, it will catch some problems. And please fill bugs against the binary package that actually shows the broken behaviour, not the source package, unless reportbugs overrides you (and for linux-libc-dev-* it will not). Bastian -- Well, Jim, I'm not much of an actor either.
