Package: initramfs-tools Version: 0.148.3 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-riscv@lists.debian.org, lucent@gmail.com User: debian-riscv@lists.debian.org Usertags: riscv64 Dear Maintainer, Debian 13 Trixie installer generates an initramfs missing USB support modules required for booting the installed system on hardware that uses the StarFive JH-7110 SoC on-chip USB PHY, as tested with Pine64 Star64. Missing cdns3 USB modules in initramfs are corrected in initramfs-tools 0.150 (ref: #1108924). Please backport these changes to Debian Stable so that the installer for stable will correctly prepare the installed system initramfs with the required modules for boot from USB media. -- Package-specific info: -- initramfs sizes -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 43M Sep 18 12:56 /boot/initrd.img-6.12.43+deb13-riscv64 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 52M Nov 13 18:45 /boot/initrd.img-6.17.7+deb14+1-riscv64 -- /proc/cmdline BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinux-6.17.7+deb14+1-riscv64 root=UUID=e7f17542-3ac6-4d3b-8457-b3fc416051cf ro quiet -- resume RESUME=UUID=0b154a25-ff8a-4391-8923-85f779682ab6 -- /proc/filesystems fuseblk btrfs ext3 ext2 ext4 vfat -- lsmod Module Size Used by bluetooth 9617408 0 ecdh_generic 32768 1 bluetooth rfkill 229376 2 bluetooth xt_conntrack 32768 1 nft_chain_nat 16384 3 xt_MASQUERADE 24576 1 nf_nat 372736 2 nft_chain_nat,xt_MASQUERADE nf_conntrack_netlink 561152 0 nf_conntrack 1724416 4 xt_conntrack,nf_nat,nf_conntrack_netlink,xt_MASQUERADE nf_defrag_ipv6 147456 1 nf_conntrack nf_defrag_ipv4 24576 1 nf_conntrack xfrm_user 675840 1 xfrm_algo 45056 1 xfrm_user xt_addrtype 32768 2 nft_compat 106496 4 nf_tables 4063232 57 nft_compat,nft_chain_nat br_netfilter 413696 0 bridge 3616768 1 br_netfilter stp 24576 1 bridge llc 61440 2 bridge,stp overlay 1748992 1 binfmt_misc 143360 1 xhci_plat_hcd 73728 0 xhci_hcd 2834432 1 xhci_plat_hcd nls_ascii 16384 1 nls_cp437 20480 1 vfat 163840 1 cdns3 1286144 0 fat 811008 1 vfat snd_soc_simple_card 86016 0 snd_soc_simple_card_utils 139264 1 snd_soc_simple_card udc_core 421888 1 cdns3 snd_soc_spdif_tx 12288 0 snd_soc_core 2207744 3 snd_soc_spdif_tx,snd_soc_simple_card_utils,snd_soc_simple_card cdns_usb_common 172032 1 cdns3 roles 49152 1 cdns_usb_common usbcore 2822144 3 xhci_hcd,cdns_usb_common,xhci_plat_hcd snd_compress 147456 1 snd_soc_core snd_pcm_dmaengine 49152 1 snd_soc_core ofpart 40960 0 snd_pcm 1392640 4 snd_compress,snd_soc_simple_card_utils,snd_soc_core,snd_pcm_dmaengine spi_nor 774144 0 snd_timer 385024 1 snd_pcm cdns3_starfive 32768 0 snd 946176 4 snd_timer,snd_compress,snd_soc_core,snd_pcm at24 81920 0 usb_common 57344 7 xhci_hcd,cdns3_starfive,cdns_usb_common,usbcore,cdns3,xhci_plat_hcd,udc_core mtd 634880 5 spi_nor,ofpart jh7110_trng 65536 0 leds_gpio 40960 0 soundcore 49152 1 snd sfctemp 45056 0 cpufreq_dt 53248 0 drm 4796416 0 configfs 450560 1 nfnetlink 176128 5 nft_compat,nf_conntrack_netlink,nf_tables efivarfs 131072 1 ip_tables 176128 0 x_tables 319488 5 xt_conntrack,nft_compat,xt_addrtype,ip_tables,xt_MASQUERADE autofs4 421888 2 ext4 9998336 1 crc16 12288 2 bluetooth,ext4 mbcache 118784 1 ext4 jbd2 1437696 1 ext4 crc32c_cryptoapi 20480 0 btrfs 23293952 0 blake2b_generic 180224 0 xor 36864 1 btrfs zlib_deflate 221184 1 btrfs raid6_pq 245760 1 btrfs motorcomm 262144 1 dwmac_starfive 24576 0 stmmac_platform 114688 1 dwmac_starfive stmmac 3477504 3 dwmac_starfive,stmmac_platform nvme 430080 4 nvme_core 1695744 5 nvme pcs_xpcs 253952 1 stmmac mdio_devres 20480 1 pcs_xpcs of_mdio 49152 3 mdio_devres,stmmac_platform,stmmac fixed_phy 40960 1 of_mdio phylink 499712 2 stmmac,pcs_xpcs axp20x_regulator 106496 6 dw_mmc_starfive 32768 0 nvme_keyring 45056 1 nvme_core axp20x_i2c 16384 0 dw_mmc_pltfm 20480 1 dw_mmc_starfive nvme_auth 131072 1 nvme_core fwnode_mdio 28672 1 of_mdio axp20x 65536 1 axp20x_i2c dw_mmc 487424 1 dw_mmc_pltfm regmap_i2c 40960 2 at24,axp20x_i2c libphy 843776 8 mdio_devres,fwnode_mdio,of_mdio,stmmac,fixed_phy,motorcomm,phylink,pcs_xpcs starfive_wdt 114688 0 pwrseq_simple 28672 1 mmc_core 1564672 3 dw_mmc,dw_mmc_starfive,pwrseq_simple watchdog 323584 1 starfive_wdt dw_axi_dmac_platform 389120 0 mdio_bus 188416 6 libphy,of_mdio,stmmac,motorcomm,phylink,pcs_xpcs spi_cadence_quadspi 368640 0 clk_starfive_jh7110_isp 28672 3 phy_jh7110_dphy_rx 53248 0 virt_dma 53248 1 dw_axi_dmac_platform clk_starfive_jh7110_vout 32768 0 phy_jh7110_usb 36864 1 clk_starfive_jh7110_stg 20480 13 clk_starfive_jh7110_aon 24576 3 i2c_designware_platform 40960 0 phy_jh7110_pcie 36864 1 -- /etc/initramfs-tools/modules -- /etc/kernel-img.conf # Kernel image management overrides # See kernel-img.conf(5) for details do_symlinks = yes do_bootloader = no do_initrd = yes link_in_boot = yes -- /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf MODULES=most BUSYBOX=auto KEYMAP=n COMPRESS=zstd DEVICE= NFSROOT=auto RUNSIZE=10% FSTYPE=auto -- /etc/initramfs-tools/update-initramfs.conf update_initramfs=yes backup_initramfs=no -- mkinitramfs hooks /etc/initramfs-tools/hooks/: resize2fs /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks: btrfs dmsetup fsck fuse keymap klibc-utils kmod resume thermal udev zz-busybox -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: riscv64 Kernel: Linux 6.17.7+deb14+1-riscv64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads;
