Control: reopen -1
Control: found -1 6.12.12-1
This bug still exists in testing, tested using the latest
debian-live-testing-amd64-xfce.iso (linux-image-amd64 6.12.12-1).
As before, running this command:
pasuspender -- aplay -D plughw:CARD=broadwellrt286,DEV=0 \
/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Left.wav
- Fails when booted normally.
- Works when "intel_iommu=off" is specified on kernel command line.
When it fails, these messages appear in dmesg:
intel_catpt INT3438:00: DesignWare DMA Controller, 8 channels
intel_catpt INT3438:00: firmware ready timeout
intel_catpt INT3438:00: boot firmware failed: -110
intel_catpt INT3438:00: ASoC: error at snd_soc_pcm_component_pm_runtime_get on catpt-platform: -22
Thank you for your work maintaining Debian!
Benjamin

Thanks a lot for reporting back that quickly. I will see if someone of the team gets a clue on where to tackle this issue. Regards, Salvatore

I see: | * workaround for bug in platform firmware applied So Linux thinks there is a problem in your firmware. Can you please provide the complete kernel log from boot? "dmesg" should work or "journalctl -b 0". > - Fails when booted normally. > - Works when "intel_iommu=off" is specified on kernel command line. This is an indication that your firmware sets up the iommu wrong, and older versions of Linux just did not use it. As everything points to firmware problems, I don't know if we can do much. Bastian -- Spock: We suffered 23 casualties in that attack, Captain.
