Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

VCN firmware had issues, see:

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/4220

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Firmware fix posted:

https://gitlab.com/kernel-firmware/linux-firmware/-/commit/b350d59cf4bc2f9a83dd823f31625f3366e831d5

   * What was the outcome of this action?

VA-API acceleration working correctly with this firmware (no time-outs/lock-ups)

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
