I've just compiled 6.11 from sources - based on the config of 6.10.7 - only disabling debug builds and updating with make olddefconfig - and now the device in question behaves again as expected. So unless this reappears once 6.11 hits Debian Testing, this may have been an upstream issue that has been solved upstream.
