Message-ID<JmyYN-cbXG-5@gated-at.bofh.it>
Package: linux-headers-6.10.9-amd64
Version: 6.10.9-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation? Installing linux-header files for the recent kernel to run VirtualBox
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)? After a kernel update I just installed the header-files linux-headers-6.10.9-amd64 & linux-headers-6.10.9-common (along with linux-kbuild-6.10.9) with Synaptic when Synaptic (as well as apt-get) showed the error.
   * What was the outcome of this action? I can configure the VirtualBox modules for the new kernel but whenever I run apt-get (or Synaptic) I get the error message (German): dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten des Paketes linux-headers-6.10.9-amd64 (--configure):
»installiertes post-installation-Skript des Paketes linux-headers-6.10.9-amd64«-Unterprozess gab den Fehlerwert 11 zurück
   * What outcome did you expect instead? No error-message as it was 3 kernel sub-versions before (I guess until 6.10.2 or so).

Can you please provide your full apt install log for it, which dkms
modules are present installed in your stystem and is the failure on
building the virtualbox modules?

Regards,
Salvatore

Ideally just the full log you had on the screen when trying to install
the headers package. If you do not have that available, look in
/var/log/apt/term.log .

We would be interested into seeing the full context of the post inst
failure.

Thanks already,

Thanks, actctually the log shows that it's the evdi dkms module
building failing. I think this is likely #1077214, and I'm reassigning
it to evdi-dkms package.

I'm not going to merge both bugs, in case Harlan (evdi's maintainer)
wants to double-check.

Regards,
Salvatore
