Dear Maintainer,

The device mapper virtual data optimizer¹ has been merged in Linux 6.9
However, the feature is not built-in Debian's kernel:
0.74 [jack:~] grep -i VDO /boot/config-6.9.9-amd64 
# CONFIG_DM_VDO is not set

Could you flip the switch ?
