Package: src:linux Version: 6.1.52-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, after upgrading from 6.1.0-11 to 6.1.0-12 the DVB driver does not load any more. The error in the kernel log is: kernel: failing symbol_get of non-GPLONLY symbol lnbh25_attach. kernel: DVB: Unable to find symbol lnbh25_attach() a similar error is already reported on the kernel mailing list: https://www.spinics.net/lists/stable/msg679272.html I downgraded to 6.1.0-11 again to get my DVB devices working. -- Package-specific info: ** Kernel log: boot messages should be attached ** Model information sys_vendor: To Be Filled By O.E.M. product_name: To Be Filled By O.E.M. product_version: To Be Filled By O.E.M. chassis_vendor: To Be Filled By O.E.M. chassis_version: To Be Filled By O.E.M. bios_vendor: American Megatrends Inc. bios_version: P6.20 board_vendor: ASRock board_name: X370 Taichi board_version: ** PCI devices: 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. The bug has been around since September 10th. On September 13th were released on kernel.org 6.1.53 released and on 19.9. 6.1.54 released. In both the bug is fixed. The meta package linux-image-amd64 still points to the faulty 6.1.52-1 If a kernel error made over 100 drivers unusable, most of which had been working without any problems for over 10 years, I was hoping for a quicker approach. Or did I miss something. Best regards Josef

The change is pending for the next upload which will be done; currently aimed for the next point release (including a rebase to 6.1.55 and several other bufixes). The next point release is scheduled on 7th October, meaning that the kernel needs to be uploaded to the stable-proposed-updates queue the weekend before (and testing from there would be very welcome). Cf. https://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2023/09/msg00015.html Regards, Salvatore

I can confirm that updating my kernel to linux-image-6.1.0-13-amd64-unsigned from proposed-updates did fix the bug for me. Thank you very much.

Thanks a lot for confirming! The signed packages are now as well available and all pending for the upcoming point release of next weekend. Regards, Salvatore
