#73492 — Bug#996974: Include GVE driver module in cloud kernels for stable

Date2021-10-21 21:00 +0200
SubjectBug#996974: Include GVE driver module in cloud kernels for stable
Message-ID<DaLsd-5Bn-5@gated-at.bofh.it>
Package: linux-image-5.10.0-8-cloud-amd64
Version: 5.10.46-5

Please include the GVE driver (CONFIG_GVE) with latest commits in the stable
cloud kernel image releases for arm64 and amd64. This may be a backport request
- we need this module to be present in the stable packages, not unstable.

I have picked up the configuration change after talking to a stable
release manager. Adding additional support for running Debian are
thinkgs we can consider after the stable release is published.

https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/-/commit/276b5febdbe2256c2f502efaa0b2958feb362376

As such it will be in the next point release update 11.3, once this is
scheduled.

Regards,
Salvatore
