Hello,

I saw that the bug was fixed and tried the kernel, but it seems I did a bad
diagnostic. As found in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/55024, it seems that
the required options for backlight control to work out-of-the-box in Cherry
Trail tablets are:

CONFIG_PWM=y
CONFIG_PWM_SYSFS=y
CONFIG_PWM_CRC=y
CONFIG_PWM_LPSS=m
CONFIG_PWM_LPSS_PCI=m
CONFIG_PWM_LPSS_PLATFORM=m

I apologize for the earlier misleading report...

Pablo B.

Among these options, only CONFIG_PWM_LPSS_PCI is missing in our kernel
configuration. That would be nice if you could build a kernel with this option
enabled to check that it allows you to correctly turn down the screen backlight
on the ASUS Transformer TA102.

Hi Vincent!

I checked that and it did not seem to work.
I have a kernel that works, and I will go through the different options to see
what makes the backlight work. It may take a bit until I can go over all the
combinations...

Thanks!
