Message-ID<BaE25-3oK-1@gated-at.bofh.it>
Package: firmware-misc-nonfree
Version: 20200918-1
Severity: minor
X-Debbugs-Cc: tg@mirbsd.de

I’m getting this during an upgrade in sid:

[…]
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools (0.139) ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-5.9.0-2-amd64
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/rkl_dmc_ver2_01.bin for module i915
[…]

Graphics work, so I don’t know the impact.

This is on a Thinkpad X61, in case this is important.

Was wondering about this error as well, looks like it's a benign warning
and can be ignored:

initramfs-tools just looks at the list of firmware files in each kernel
module it includes. So if the list is wrong, it's a kernel bug.

We need to pick this upstream commit that updates the requested
firmware versions:

commit 5bf7919d530a2e1456ae602fccf365c213a4db4f
Author: José Roberto de Souza <jose.souza@intel.com>
Date: Thu Aug 13 13:00:28 2020 -0700

drm/i915: Update TGL and RKL DMC firmware versions
