Bug#890343: default qdisc Matt Taggart <taggart@debian.org> - 2020-07-15 07:00 +0200

Regarding the default qdisc setting, here's an interesting article in Phoronix about fq_pie Linux 5.9 To Allow Defaulting To FQ-PIE Queuing Discipline For Fighting Bufferbloat https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Linux-5.9-FQ-PIE-QDISC I think this only means it's possible for it to be set as the default in 5.9, I don't know what the upstream kernel will ship with as a default. The Debian default needs to be updated, fq_codel would be a good choice, maybe fq_pie is a good choice starting in 5.9 as well. Any comments on this or my previous questions from April? What needs to happen for this to change? Thanks, -- Matt Taggart taggart@debian.org
