SubjectBug#964181: linux-image-4.19.0-9-amd64: Unable to get battery status
Message-ID<Aopyp-1uS-1@gated-at.bofh.it>
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.19.118-2+deb10u1
Severity: normal

I recently installed Debian on this tablet and I noticed it doesn't provide any battery information although the matching modules (axp*) are loaded.

The directory /sys/class/power_supply is empty, but the device is accessible via /sys/bus/i2c/.

I also tried a recent kernel 5.4 with same results.

Could you please help me to fix this?

Thank you Bernhard,

your comment was quite useful. As mentioned in
https://bugs.debian.org/873038 <https://bugs.debian.org/927163> and
https://bugs.debian.org/927163

a few changes were necessary to fix this issue:

After recompilation of the kernel the directory /sys/class/power_supply
