I am affected by this bug too on a Dell Latitude 14" 2-in-1.

~$ apt list --installed | grep linux-image

WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in
scripts.

Sound was working on a custom built 5.4.0-rc8 and on the 5.5.0-rc5 from
experimental, but after the upgrade to 5.5.0-0.bpo.2 I have only a
"Dummy output" in my mixer.

The results of journalctl -b | grep "00:1f\.3" are

== 5.5.0-rc5 == working sound ==

~# journalctl -b | grep "00:1f\.3"

===========================

It seems that the version in backports recognizes the "Digital mics
found on Skylake+ platform, using SOF driver" but then fails to load a
firmware for it, whereas the 5.5.0-rc5 version did not recognize the
"digital mic" but at least gave a working speaker and mic/headphone jack.
