I should perhaps add that there is some slight indication that this might be graphics related. Cause when I switch from the running X/Cinnamon (with the CPU at average temperatures between 75-70°C, while top doesn't show really much) to the virtual kernel console, temperatures go down drastically (to around 56°C).
