After reporting the bug, I found this article: https://hobo.house/2018/05/18/fix-for-intel-i915-gpu-freeze-on-recent-linux-kernels/ and tried what is suggested, i.e., added file cat > /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-intel.conf <<EOF Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" EndSection EOF After that I have not experienced any freezes (yet). Would it be possible that in this kind of environment Debian would automatically use Intel driver instead of X.Org driver?
