Hello.

It seems as if I found a solution for the problem (Stretch stuck after
loading initial ramdisk).

Recently I installed two driver packages:
firmware-misc-nonfree 20161130-4
nvidia-driver 390.87-8~deb9u1

Obviously this replaced the nouveau driver which was used before.

The boot problem did not happen again since then.

Best regards!
