i take it from the commit mentioned in the latter at

that this is fixed in 4.19

but i have no idea if 4.19 is going to get into testing, which is what
i'm running, before the buster release or if the kernel version has
settled on 4.18

on the other hand, the commit mentioned in this comment

seems to indicate it fixes the same issue for 4.18.20 but i don't know
how that finds its way into the next stable release thereof, or how
long that would take to make it into testing

anybody know?
