I experienced this bug when attempting to curl s3.amazonaws.com over
https.  In my case, it manifested as a hardlock of the VM when running
curl.  The behavior also occurred with wget, and intermittently with a
direct openssl session.  The behavior did not occur when curling/wgetting
http.

I resolved the issue by switching the VM's NIC type from vmxnet3 to E1000e.

Please let me know what information or assistance I can provide in
isolating this bug.
