Package: src:linux
Version: 4.8.7-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
After upgrading from linux-image-4.7.0-1-armmp 4.7.8-1 to
linux-image-4.8.0-1-armmp 4.8.7-1, my Mele A1000G set top box can no
longer mount the root filesystem on boot and gives up waiting for it
to appear:
[ 2.743254] ehci_hcd: USB 2.0 'Enhanced' Host Controller (EHCI) Driver
[ 2.753511] ehci-platform: EHCI generic platform driver

done.
Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:
- Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
- Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
- Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?)
- Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! UUID=3b80f520-6066-439d-b27e-b11c6bf3fe8d does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
The filesystem is on a SATA disk connected through a SATA-to-USB
adapter. The output of dmesg for the working 4.7.0 boot and
non-working 4.8.0 boot are attached.
