Unfortunately you described very little about your problem, all I/we know is that there is a 'boot failure' under Xen. And only under Xen. The referenced bug does not mention Xen and has a working workaround ... which does not work for you. Do you have any kind of (boot) log (or screenshot/picture of it), that shows what's actually happening (and/or not happening)?
