The GNOME Foundation is currently in a critical financial situation, so the notification is not going to be removed from Debian at this time. The reminder notification is set to only show twice per year. There is a similar successful KDE campaign. You can disable the donation notification on your systems with this command: gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.housekeeping donation-reminder-enabled false Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
