Subject: linuxcnc-uspace: recommends hostmot2-firmware-all which is not in unstable Package: linuxcnc-uspace Version: 1:2.9.4-2 Severity: minor User: submit@bugs.debian.org Usertags: package-relations Dear maintainer, I see that the package linuxcnc-uspace (version 1:2.9.4-2) recommends hostmot2-firmware-all which is not in unstable. This can be seen in https://packages.debian.org/unstable/linuxcnc-uspace . Search for "Package not available". Should it be dropped or changed? Thank you, -- Carles Pina i Estany https://carles.pina.cat | carles@pina.cat | cpina@debian.org

The package should not be on the list of recommends for the packages in the official Debian repository, as the reference packages have never been uploaded to Debian. The package does exist on the separate linucnc.org repository (though not currently for Trixie). This package dates back to when LinuxCNC used to build Mesa Hostmot2 firmware packages, though this has not been the case for some time now. (The package contents are still valid, but support an increasingly outdated set of cards. The newer cards do not need to load a config from /lib/firmware and so do not require the packages.)
