Source: fpc
Version: 3.2.2+dfsg-42
Severity: normal

Hi,

The migration excuses for fpc currently marks fpc as not reproducible,
while it used to be reproducible until 3.2.2+dfsg-40. This can be seen
on the web pages of the reproducibility project [2]. I *think* what I'm
seeing is a crash recorded during the generation of the man pages.

Yes, indeed, I can see the following in the following when running man mka64ins-
3.2.2
DESCRIPTION
FPC Instruction Table Converter Version 0.9 Based on Narm Instruction Table Converter creating
       a64tab.inc creating a64op.inc creating a64att.inc creating a64atts.inc Runtime error 2 at
       $0000558489B3665A

              $0000558489B3665A

SEE ALSO

So this maybe a regression caused by the hardening change. I'll have a look at it.

I just checked on testing and man mka64ins-3.2.2 gives similar error message
inside the man file.

So probably this is an old bug but that was hidden by the fact that adresses in
the call stack used to be the very same while now PIE made it visible.

There are 3 programs named mka64ins-3.2.2, mkarmins-3.2.2 and mkx86ins-3.2.2
that are helper programs used by the compiler compilation which do not support -
h/--help and do not even take any parameter. They only read a file in a relative
position to current directory and write some pascal include files that are part
of the compiler sources.

So these programs are not useful for users and should not be packaged. I'm going
to upload a new version discarding them once current version hits testing (in 3
days I hope).
