Dear maintainers,

nothing in xapps-common needs gist to be installed. But the Python script 
/usr/share/xapps-common/bin/pastebin needs netcat to be installed instead. 
So could you please replace gist by netcat in debian/control.

Moreover, if there is a reason for putting the executable binaries in 
/usr/share/xapps-common/bin/ instead of /usr/bin/ (which is what upstream 
does), then you should also adapt the path in upload-system-info (line 7) 
from '/usr/bin/pastebin' to '/usr/share/xapps-common/bin/pastebin'.

Thanks for report, you right, upstream removed gist usage in 1.2.2 
(https://github.com/linuxmint/xapp/commit/f40a5376554c2675ec9ed1e4c45d30329a8a4c32) 
and added use of netcat but in debian package was missed, I'll fix it in 
next build.

I'll fix it in next build. Commit description

don't specify but I suppose was moved to avoid conflict to other 
possible similar script/binary (even if no other package in official 
repo have it for now) and I think is better keep it

thanks for the immediate response!

I've had a quick look at your commits and so have one minor remark. 
/usr/bin/nc is handled by update-alternatives and both packages 
netcat-openbsd and netcat-traditional have "Provides: netcat", so you 
also could simply use netcat as dependency instead, similar to other 
packages in Debian like foomatic-db-engine, virt-viewer or playonlinux 
for instance.

thanks for the information, I had quickly made that change and a test 
but not being sure and not having checked the different netcat before I 
wanted to be sure

I also added a patch in cinnamon to change the upload-system-info path 
(https://salsa.debian.org/cinnamon-team/cinnamon/-/commits/master)

I'll do other improvements and upload probably in the weekend if I'll 
have time
