Package: bind9-dnsutils
Version: 1:9.17.20-3
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

While checking some of my DNS records I got NXDOMAIN responses for all
SRV queries.

I found out, that it has nothing to do with SRV, but with the underscore
in the domain.
The current behaviour is the following (note the missing underscores in
the QUESTION SECTION):

```
$ dig _xmpp-client._tcp.debian.org srv
...
;; QUESTION SECTION:
;xmpp-client.tcp.debian.org.	IN	SRV
...
```

The expected result (tested on another machine on Debian Bullseye, DiG
9.16.22-Debian) is:

```
$ dig _xmpp-client._tcp.debian.org srv
...
;; QUESTION SECTION:
;_xmpp-client._tcp.debian.org.	IN	SRV
...
```

Underscores simply get removed from the query.

Package: bind9-host
Version: 1:9.17.20-3
Followup-For: Bug #1000787

Dear Maintainer,

There is the same problem with the host command from the bind9-host package.

Since the last updates the host command no longer resolves names that start with an underscore.

Names that start with underscores are used by SRV types or with CNAME types to validate SSL certificates.

I can no longer verify that the addition was done correctly in the DNS zones.

Regards.
