Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "dtkwidget":

 * Package name    : dtkwidget
   Version         : 5.5.17.1-1~exp1
   Upstream Author : https://github.com/linuxdeepin/dtkwidget/issues
 * URL             : https://github.com/linuxdeepin/dtkwidget
 * License         : LGPL-3+, GPL-2+, GPL-3+
 * Vcs             : https://salsa.debian.org/pkg-deepin-team/dtkwidget
   Section         : libs

It builds those binary packages:

  dtkwidget5-examples - dtkwidget-examples is generated by dtkwidget
  libdtkwidget5-bin - Deepin Tool Kit Widget library utilities
  libdtkwidget5 - Deepin Tool Kit Widget library
  libdtkwidget-dev - Deepin Tool Kit Widget library (development files)

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/dtkwidget/

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/dtkwidget/dtkwidget_5.5.17.1-1~exp1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

 dtkwidget (5.5.17.1-1~exp1) experimental; urgency=medium

Alas, this one needs its symbols updated.

Are there any problems with the current symbols?
Compared with the previous version - 5.4.1-1~exp1, I have updated the
symbols file
And Lintian did not report any problems with symbols when I compiled it.

Looks like your version of symbols is ok for gcc-10, but will fail for
gcc-11. I guess we can worry once gcc default is bumped.

Has rebuild and reupload to mentors.
After discussion, our team(pkg-deepin) decided to remove the symbols,
Because all deepin packages are maintained by our team (pkg-deepin),
So symbols of dtk(deepin toolkit) projects are meaningless.

Thanks.

Actually, symbols are meant for auto-generating versions in Depends: field,
to tell the minimal version of the library that matches the ABI. But,
managing symbols for C++ code is notoriously hard, thus dropping them is
not a problem.

There's another issue, though. The packaging includes a number of changes
that are not mentioned in the changelog -- and at least adding a new binary
package requires a different type of upload.

Thus: please mention packaging changes inside debian/changelog.
