Could this be the same issue reported as
<URL: https://bugs.debian.org/916399 >?  Do not seem like the backtraces
match, but it is too a crash bug when exiting.

They are quite different crashes AFAICT (SIGSEGV vs SIGABRT0 and
different backtraces), but maybe the underlying cause is the same.

Upstream just commited a fix for this issue listed as
<URL: https://github.com/johang/vlc-bittorrent/issues/38 >.  I have not
tested the patch myself.

I have confirmed that it fixes the issue. Since this is really a minor
issue, no need to do an update just for it, wait for the next release.
